The Daily Drum Today’s drum features “The Blue Bea The Daily Drum
Today’s drum features “The Blue Bear Drum” - Muin
The stars were our calendar. The changing positions of the star patterns in the heavens reflect the patterns of the seasons on the earth. The Mi'kmaq First Nations used to call Ursa Major, “The Bear”, and thought that the Corona Borealis looked like the Bear's cave.

Today’s drum is entitled “I Dreamed a Whale”

"When I learned to swim as a boy, I use to try to open my eyes under water. Colors were dazzling, but details were undefined. This is how I see this whale as he swims by, everything is multi colored and sparkling."

Today’s drum features the Beluga Whale.
Beluga whales are known as "canaries of the sea" because of their musical voices and talkative nature. Legend has it that sailors believed the songs of belugas were the voices of drowned men speaking from beneath the waves.

Today I am featuring a White Moose Drum.
We have great respect for white (albino) animals and will not harm them in any way. It is believed that they could be one of our ancestors coming to tell us that something important is going to take place within our communities.

Today’s drum is entitled “Spirit Woman”.
This spirit woman is overlooking the physical world.
There are spirits and people among us who can bridge the spirit world and physical world.

The traditional mask was created in a variety of sizes, shapes and forms. They were made of many different types of materials, and were decorated with ribbon, paint and ornaments. Each mask has a unique symbolic meaning.
